Final Fantasy XI Bids Farewell to Xbox 360 and PS2 Servers

Final Fantasy XI, one of the MMOs that hit the market alongside World of Warcraft back in the day, is closing doors for all of it’s users still playing on PS2 and Xbox 360.

However, while the console servers are closing, the game will remain playable on PC if any players desire to continue their adventure in Vana’diel. We’ve known about this closure for some time now, but it’s still sad to see such a strong MMO closing a few of it’s doors.

Thankfully, players will be able to continue playing on PC if they desire, without needing to buy a fresh copy of the game. Currently the PC version supports all recent versions of Windows, but Square Enix has warned players that there are some unresolved issues with specific drivers and other programs on Windows 10.

You can check out the official announcement, which has more information on the server closures, here.
