Kidalang, the Indonesian Game Dev studio behind the award winning visual novel An Octave Higher, has just made available on Steam Greenlight their newest project, One Small Fire at a Time.

A prequel to An Octave Higher, it will be set 22 years before the events of the previous visual novel. It will follow the story of 13-year-old Janis, one of the rare few suffering from “Magic Deficiency Disorder”, the incapability to use magic in a society where magic is sovereign and those unskilled using it are treated with prejudice.

Confined to live in a madhouse and a constant target of bullying due to her disability, she finds refuge and a father figure in Aidan Woolf, a powerful mage and police commander. However, he seems to be driven to help Janis not out of solidarity, but with a purpose in mind.
