We’ve learned of a rumor (via Game Blog France, Twinfinite) claiming that Capcom is working on Devil May Cry 5, and they’re set to announce it soon.
The rumor began when Johnny Yong Bosch, who played the role of Nero in Devil May Cry 4, recently posted a picture with Reuben Langdon, who played the iconic role of Dante, the series mainstay. Both actors were clearly in a recent mo-cap session.
You can view the (now removed) photo below:
Game Blog claims they’ve confirmed the rumor with their own sources, and that Capcom will reveal the game soon (Editor’s Note: We’ve had some fans express concern over the reliability of the site, so please consider this a rumor for now).
For those wondering if this is just an old shot of them doing work on Devil May Cry 4, think again. When asked what this picture is related to, Johnny said “Can’t say.” This, combined with the removal of the photo, makes it all very suspicious.
There’s also the recent tweet from Devil May Cry 2, 3, and 4 director, Hideaki Itsuno, who confirmed that he’s begun work on a new project, however it cannot be announced just yet.
If this is true, it means Capcom has listened to their fans and finally returned to the original Dante, as well as the original (yet convoluted) story arc for the series.
Could this be an E3 2016 reveal? We’ve reached out to Capcom for a comment.
