The latest Dengeki PlayStation (via Hachima) has revealed some new details for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The new information comes from an interview with Producer Toshinori Kitase and Director Tetsuya Nomura. While we know the game will be expanded and broken up into individual releases, they did confirm there will be an overworld. However, they wouldn’t confirm if it’s truly open world, or a sandbox, or what have you.
They made a point in saying that certain moments, like the Honey Bee Inn, will have to be adapted carefully, due to the change in the social climate of today compared to when the game first launched all those years ago.
Minigames that fans remember fondly will be included in the game, however smaller ones will be considered prior to being updated and integrated.
Finally, the game’s overall development is in the initial phase, and they are developing the battle system now.
