We’ve learned some tragic news – Japanese voice actress Miyu Matsuki has died at the age of 38.

The news comes via Agency 81 Produce, who posted a message regarding her passing for her fans. A cause of death was not given, however, Matsuki was known to be ailing from pneumonia.

While Matsuki appeared in more TV anime shows than video games, her most recent appearances include TV anime Shimoneta’s Anna Nishikinomiya, as well as Lailah from Bandai Namco’s Tales of Zestiria.

In her last blog entry, she remarked on the big birthday cake she received on September 14th, her 38th birthday. It was the kind of cake you’d see at a wedding. She even cut it with a big knife, too (usually a katana-style blade).

“It was totally like a wedding ceremony,” said Matsuki. “A splendid solo wedding. When I get better I’m gonna get married!”
