We’ve learned (via Hachima Kikou) that Sega has filed a trademark for “Aoki Kakumei no Valkyria,” or “Valkyria of the Blue Revolution,” in Japan.

While there is nothing really to it, this new mark is clearly for a new game – although it remains to be seen if this is a true follow-up for the tactical RPG, or some kind of mobile spin-off.

The latest game in the series, Valkyria Chronicles III, was released for the PlayStation Portable in Japan back in 2011 – and has never been localized in English. More recently, the original Valkyria Chronicles was ported to PC last year – so perhaps this could be a PC game?
