Developer Carbine Studios are drumming up excitement for the upcoming re-release/free-to-play launch for Wildstar, their MMORPG.

A sizeable upgrade to the game is in its visuals, which despite already being praised as is, are getting an upgrade. To be more specific, the game is receiving a new lighting engine, which is coming alongside other visual tweaks like skyboxes, drawdistance, and more.

You can view a comparison of the game’s original lighting/rendering (pictured left) engine below, to the new look (pictured right) in Wildstar: Reloaded.

With the game’s big new update landing on September 29th (this Tuesday), the new lighting and visual upgrades will be rolled out in phases over the next few updates. Carbine Studios will be starting in low-level starter zones, and work their way towards higher level areas.
