RollerCoaster Tycoon World Resurfaces With New Gameplay

Following the visual overhaul that RollerCoaster Tycoon World received this past June, Atari has released a behind-the-scenes video (featured above) for the game showing off its latest build, as well as some insight from the development team.

In a developer blog post that accompanied the video, Atari confirmed a collaboration for the game with Six Flags. Coming from this, as the game was handed off to new developer Nvizzio Creations, who are being given access to the theme park’s experience and real-world data, including roller coaster designs, park schematics, and more.

Both Atari and Nvizzio are promising that fans will be able to create even more robust parks with more dynamic and unique roller coasters – the most noticeable upgrade being a spline-based coaster editor.


This means you can develop turns, curves, and more with more natural designs. The above video also focuses on the games technical advances like improved AI, full Steam Workshop support, a terrain deformation tool, and more.

RollerCoaster Tycoon World has experienced difficulties with its development, the aforementioned criticism from the fans asking for a new visual style, as well as the game being handed off from Pipeworks (the original developer), to Area 52 games.

As for a release date – Atari and Nvizzio are both mum on concrete details. The latest blog post mentions that a release date will come soon, as well as details for the game’s upcoming beta.
