• Bandai Namco Announces the .hack-like New World, a 3D RPG for Smartphones

    Bandai Namco has announced New World Vol. 1: Maiden of Silver Tears, a free-to-play new mobile-bound RPG.

    The game is developed by .hack creator CyberConnect2, with character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (who also did the art and designs for the original .hack series).

    New World is launching for both iOS and Android sometime later this year. Featured above, you can view the game’s debut trailer, which also has small tidbits of gameplay hidden throughout.

    The game is the first chapter in Project N.U., a new universe that is likened to a spiritual successor to the concept and world of the .hack series, while also being an entirely new project built from scratch.

    Bandai Namco made a note in saying New World isn’t the only game in Project N.U., as they teased future news for the series.
