We’ve gotten the first details for the evil-god protagonists in Spike Chunsoft and tri-Ace’s upcoming PS Vita and Playstation 4 side-view RPG, Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky, via the game’s official website.
You can find the character bios and their artwork below:
Kanata Kujou (voiced by Ryouta Ohsaka)
The protagonist of the the game. His parents are managers of a large company. As a result, he grew up in an extraordinarily rich family. His hair is naturally white. He has been influenced by his strict upbringing as well as the curiousity others have for him. Because of this, he was not an especially lively child. He did not like to stand out.
He has known Ranze from the time they were seven years old , and their parents have decided that the two are to wed after they grow up. He has a good relationship with both of his parents, and self-consciously compares himself to his surroundings, aware that he is blessed. He thought if he kept living this way, he’d be going in a good direction, but he becomes caught up in trouble.
Ranze Miwakawa (voiced by Aya Endou)
A high-status lady well-schooled in traditions and the daughter large dojo. Kanata is her fiance, and the two have known each other from when they were seven.
They are classmates. She is skilled at kyudo and using the naginata, and is extremely active. She is an orthodox honor student who has many admirers amongst both the men and women of the school.
She respects her parents and puts satisfying their hopes above her own feelings. She becomes involved in a incident with the protagonist, which causes the emotions she had been hiding to surface.
Mayura Tsukishiro (voiced by Ai Kayano)
A woman who recently met Kanata at Protolexa. Like him, her hair is white. Her hair color was caused by disease. Her memories have been lost since she came to a different world, and she has a weak connection to her original world. She feels uneasy about returning to her original world, but is making a strong effort to return, though she can’t say that to her comrades.
Tokihisa Kiriya (voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara)
A young man who meets Kanata at Protolexa. Like the other members, the explosion of the Yamatoga soul caused him to be sent to Protolexa. For a while, he was acting on. He has declared that he is not a good person and he has a brusque character. However, he is very thoughtful when it comes to his comrades. He enjoys fishing, but it doesn’t suit him.
Haru Nagiko (voiced by Sora Tokui)
A lady who commutes to the same school as the protagonist. She is his classmate. She is part of a friendly gang of four which includes Kanata, Ranze, and Mitsuhide. At the time of the incident, she was mobilized along with Kanata and Ranze. She saw them affected by a cave-in incident, and rushed after them. Then she too was affected by the incident. She is a very bright, cheerful girl. Although she doesn’t read the atmosphere, she doesn’t have a double-dealing nature, so she isn’t disliked.
Mitsuhide Yasakata (voiced by Shinnosuke Tachibana)
Another classmate of the protagonist’s who attends the same school. Part of the friendly group of four. Rather than be a leading character himself, he thinks he’d rather become power for someone else. He is especially sociable, and tends to smooth out arguments around him. He is a man who reads the atmosphere. He has a lot of respect for his late grandfather. As a result, he tries very hard to realize his expectations.
Ren Ogami (voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga)
Son born into a zaibatsu. His special upbringing meant he wasn’t blessed with many friends, and he is often alone. With that aside, he does not seem pessimistic. He is rather friendly but keeps retains his own objective viewpoint, which can make him cold at times. He doesn’t think highly of himself, and is thinking about improving his own power. He thinks about his doting grandfather and father.
Amatsume (voiced by Kikuko Inoue)
A goddess who protects Protolexa. She personally got rid of Yamatoga. To stop the resurrection of the evil god Yamatoga, she summoned the 12 people containing the soul of Yamatoga to Protolexa. As a result, her power was squandered.
Yamatoga (voiced by Takehito Koyasu)
Amatsume divided his soul into twelve pieces and expelled him. He planned to make a comeback by assimilating his own soul with those in Kanata’s group. However, Amatsume is aware of that plan and summoned them to Protolexa.
As we detailed in our previous report, the game is set in both modern day Tokyo, and the parallel world of Protolexa.
An explosion in Tokyo caused by the evil god Yamatoga kills the game’s dozen heroes, including protagonist Kanata Kujou. These twelve individuals have a part of Yamatoga’s soul embedded within them, and as a result, become immortal.
Finally, pre-orders for the game will come with a soundtrack CD, and an art booklet.
