Creative Assembly Reveal Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and PC

Microsoft has revealed Halo Wars 2 for both Xbox One and PC.

The game is being developed by Creative Assembly, who are owned by Sega. This makes yet another strategy game the studio is handling, alongside Total War: Warhammer.

Halo Wars 2 is set to launch in the fall of 2016, and will come with “fast-paced action, massive battles and an all-new Halo story.”

Can’t say I expected this, but I think I might be interested. Halo Wars was pretty neat.

And it’s getting released on the platform it should be released on. Now why can’t MS put the other Halo games on PC?

I don’t really think Halo has the clout it used to have to make something like an RTS spin-off successful. Who knows though, maybe it’ll give SC2 a run for it’s money if they design it well. Any RTS is better than nothing at this point.

How many games are Creative Assembly working on? Glad to see Halo wars turn to the PC though.

True, though if they are going to develop it for both XB1 and PC it is sadly probably going to be dumb down. Though I’ll admit, Halo Wars was a fun RTS, if extremely simple.

I should be a legal requirement for developers to issue a formal warning in the description of a video when it contans absolutely no gameplay, whatsoever.

Or simply make it illegal to create the fucking things to begin with.

oh come on no need to make it illegal that’d be too extreme
but a friendly warning would be a polite way to show respect to the audience
just let us know if the trailer is worth watching at all or not instead of making us waste time

Halo Wars killed Ensemble Studios, the people from Age of Empires fame. Let’s hope Halo’s taint doesn’t bring too many problems to CA.

Halo Wars wasn’t a bad game, but just an incredibly mediocre RTS. Considering Creative Assembly’s track record as of late, then my hopes aren’t too high. I love the Total War series, but they screwed up big time with Rome.

Also with Sega’s big announcements, then where is an English port of Valkyria Chronicles 3? Or a Western release for the latest Yakuza game? Or PSO2? Or some new announced sequels to some of these beloved Japanese titles? Why do they constantly take a crap on American/European fans for their Japanese games?

Maybe they were waiting for Windows 10 to be out so they can drive the adoption rates of it for gamers by making the Halo games Windows 10 exclusive.

I would love it if the Samurai era Yakuza game and Yakuza 1/2 HD for Wii U were localized. I’d definitely play the heck out of PSO 2/Nova. So many games that would easily make them money if localized, but they have no faith in the western markets.

Sega’s Market Research, or lack thereof is horrible. I remember they were shock how well Valkryia Chronicles sold on PC. Sadly they still can’t figure out how there is an audience for some of their Japanese games.

I’d kill for the Yakuza games on PC. They’d sell so well. Hopefully Vakyria’s sales figures pique their interest in porting and localizing more games to the PC.

I just want Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 ported to a non-dead system. They released a PS3 sequel for PSP only in 2010? Are they dumb?
