Beamdog’s countdown teaser has run out – and we now know their new game is a mid-sequel that comes between Baldur’s Gate 1, its sequel, Baldur’s Gate 2.
Dubbed simply Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, the new expansion is built within a modified and improved version of the Infinity Engine that both original games were built on. Unlike its predecessors, however, the game is going to launch across PC, Mac, Linux, and even mobile devices. The mobile release will come “shortly thereafter” the PC, Mac, and Linux releases.
For those not following Beamdog’s various teases, Siege of Dragonspear is their January-teased “Adventure Y” title. The expansion is reportedly going to last at least 25 hours, and will incorporate a new class, the Shaman. Sam Hulick (Mass Effect series) is going to be handling the soundtrack.
A price or release date was not confirmed, but we’ll keep you guys posted.
