Experience Sword Coast Legends Gameplay Overload In These Two New Videos

As someone wasting away as I wait for the Fall release of Sword Coast Legends, I was relieved to see a new and healthy dose of gameplay posted on the game’s official Youtube channel. With more footage shown of campaign creation, the full picture of the game’s DM mode and its malleability are finally starting to become known. Those wanting a modern Neverwinter Nights may just get what they’ve been begging for.

The first one, which shows a multiplayer dungeon run that was conducted during E3, is a good showcase for how the game’s on-the-fly campaign creation is done. Placing props, traps and managing combat are all shown in the video, with the players having to navigate through the spider-strewn caverns afterward.

The second one is more of a “how-to” video, with n-Space’s Dan tudge explaining what the engine is capable of and exactly what aspiring DMs can do to the campaign to customize it and tailor it to their own tastes. Unlike the first video it doesn’t show much gameplay, but does give you an idea on what you can do to alter the world. The system looks very flexible, with weather and time of day being able to be altered through the campaign creator.

Sword Coast Legends is due out this September 8th on Windows, Mac, and Linux. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are planned to launch sometime later.
