In today’s Active Time Report, Square Enix has officially confirmed that Stella Nox Fleuret, the potential love interest that has been seen in the majority of older Final Fantasy XV footage, has been removed from the game.

We’ve seen the new character, Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, in trailers since the Tokyo Game Show 2014 trailer and the rebranding of the game as Final Fantasy XV. Previously, fans had speculated that Stella had been removed, or that Luna was a relative of Stella.

Now, we know that Stella has been removed entirely, and that Luna is an entirely new character. The only thing known so far is that Luna is from the family Tenebrae and she lives in Altissia, with fans speculating that she is hiding there. Originally, fans believed that she died during Idola Aldercapt’s conquest of the city.

The reasoning behind removing Stella from the game was not provided at the time of publication.
