Introducing Medieval Steampunk CRPG Acaratus

Probably owing a bit of its theme to that other medieval-meets-steampunk RPG Arcanum, Swedish developer Nodbrim Interactive has announced their own Steampunk influenced game, titled Acaratus.

The setting is where that similarity ends, however, since the game has your characters fighting inside mechs which you can build and modify to suit your play style. There is also a card-collecting mechanic that adds different abilities to your party members to further distance the game from the usual copy-and-paste CRPGs. As for the battles where those mechs are used, they are grid and turn-based, which gives it the look of a more traditional strategy game.

The developer states that the game will be made available on Steam’s early access sometime in February of 2016. Until then, you can stay up to date on the title through its official website.
