It seems like the rumors were true – we’ve learned that Dark Souls III is in fact in development, according to a leak via The Know, prior to the game’s planned E3 2015 reveal.

While we don’t have the reveal trailer just yet, we have the first details and screenshots for the upcoming sequel. The game is coming to both Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and while a PC version is listed, the PC release is described as “negotiable.”

The game will support up to four players, meaning that you can summon more than one friend this time, and there might be a PVP element integrated into this new functionality. There will be ten playable classes, all of which are playable from the beginning of the game.

Fans can expect a total of 100 new weapons, 40 new armor sets (returning equipment not included in those numbers), 15 new bosses, and 45 new enemies (also with no returning monsters or bosses included in those numbers).

As for visuals – there will be roughly an hour of cutscenes, the majority of which are rendered in game. There will be twelve worlds to explore, and both light sources and enemy layouts seeing a change from the previous games.

You’ll be able to interact with players differently online, now. You can take part in new “Sacrifice Ceremonies.” In this new ritual, you can drag a player’s body around, decide where to sacrifice them, perform the actual ritual, and then visit the player’s game. If you do this, you’ll become a target for other players, and this opens up other possibilities, like sacrificing a player to create a new bonfire.

Encounters with bosses are completely revamped – players can expect a new “Heat Up” factor that is poised to “completely change” the way bosses are handled – although details weren’t shared at this time.

There will be new “Sword Fighting Arts” mechanics, which include “Rush In” and “Circle” abilities. While rushing in will let you charge into an enemy and take damage while unleashing a deadly blow, circling is described as more of a evasive maneuver.
