Nintendo has announced some wonderful news – they’re publishing the original Yo-Kai Watch in the United States, Europe, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
The story is focused on a young boy that gets a magic watch, which enables him to make friends with the sneaky Yo-Kai spirits, and eventually summon them to fight other Yo-Kai. Nintendo points out that while “youkai” is literally translated to “ghost” or “specter,” they are not ghosts or monsters. Instead, they are just “Yo-Kai,” and they “cannot be seen by the human eye, but they are everywhere. Whether born from the soul of a deceased human, or an everyday object discovering its higher purpose, their personalities are distinctly humanlike.”
Yo-Kai Watch originally launched in Japan back in July of 2013. Finally, a release date was not confirmed.
