Square Enix has revealed two new trailers for the arcade remake of Dissidia Final Fantasy.
Featured above, the first video directly compares the game running on Playstation 4 and the game’s original TypeX arcade hardware. Despite this, we know the arcade version of the game is running on Playstation 4 hardware.
The second trailer is a brand-new trailer, which showcases a bit of new gameplay, with a look at the game’s Midgar stage, which previously got a tease in an earlier trailer for the game.
Square Enix also confirmed that Dissidia Final Fantasy will launch in arcades with fourteen playable characters. We previously saw reports of the game launching with over 50 characters, but Square Enix confirmed the game will eventually have 50 characters, via post-launch updates.
The confirmed playable characters so far are as follows:
- Warrior of Light (Final Fantasy I)
- Onion Knight (Final Fantasy III)
- Terra Branford (Final Fantasy VI)
- Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII)
- Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII)
- Y’Shtola (Final Fantasy XIV)
- Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics)
Dissidia Final Fantasy is coming to Japanese arcades some time this fall, with a potential release on Playstation 4 a year later.
