Taiko Drum Master V Version 4-24-15 - 1

Next up we have the information about Donda Quest:

We’ve already been briefly introduced to Don-chan and the heroine Maple, however we’ve now gotten a bunch more information regarding the Donda Quest story mode these two will feature in.

The battles take place in the way you would expect in a rhythm game – you’ll be playing through songs, and as you perform your enemy will take damage based upon how well you do.

The story arc will feature Don-chan as he is sucked into a strange book and sent to another world. When he looks upon arriving, he finds there are two moons in the sky – and without anything else to do, he begins to wander. As he does so, Don-chan gets viciously attacked by a dragon, but is saved by the intervention of a girl, Maple, and they run for their lives. The two quickly become friends, and Maple tells Don-chan that the dragons are unfortunately quite common, called “Noise Monsters”, and often attack the city. Together, Don-chan and Maple decide to fight the “Noise Monsters” using the power of their music. Revolution, the dragon that attacked them earlier however, will prove to be quite the challenging adversary.

Throughout the game, players are able to form a deck of cards and use their powers during battle. These cards can contain numerous things from weapons and equipment to support items and special attacks. In addition, you are able to change the clothing Don-chan wears which bestow various effects. You’re fully able to customize Don-chan in a way that your equipment will play off of your deck to make battles go that much smoother.

During battles, special attacks will cause cut-ins to appear as well. Of course these moves all have special effects like dealing heavy damage to your opponent or recovering your own side’s HP.

Also announced are guest characters that can appear during special attack cut-ins. So far the announced characters and groups are:

  • The Idolm@ster: Cinderella Girls’ New Generation unit (Anyone from the unit)
  • God Eater 2: Rage Burst’s Blood Members
  • Assassination Classroom’s teacher, Koro-sensei
  • IA (The Vocaloid)
  • Normin (From Tales of Zestiria)
