Just last month, Square Enix revealed a new arcade game, School of Ragnarok. We’ve discovered (via Hachima Kikou) that they’ll soon be location testing the game. The Japanese public will get to try it out at six select locations from February 27 to March 1, and from March 5 to 8, throughout Tokyo, Osaka, Aichi, and Fukuoka.
The schedule is as follows:
- February 27 to March 1: Taito Station Akihabara, Tokyo; and Round One Umeda, Osaka.
- March 5 to 8: Sega Ikebukuro GiGO, Tokyo; Namco Umeda, Osaka; Taito Station Fukuoka Tenjin, Fukuoka; and Nagoya Leisurelan Sasashima, Aichi.
A tournament will be held on the last day of testing at each location.
Squeenix has described School of Ragnarok as an “online one versus one tactical five-dimensional action” arcade fighting game—”5D” because players’ view switches between 2D and 3D depending on their character’s distance from their opponent.
If you haven’t already, you can watch some of the fights we have on video so far here, here, and here.
