It seems like Rare is working on a new game, and it might be something that actually gets fans excited.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer visited the studio today, and he posted a blatant tease on his Twitter account:

“Got to play the new @RareLtd game today. Rare building a uniquely Rare game, as it should be. Great visit to the studio.”

Rare has been sadly churning out Kinect-focused games since 2008, although they were known for the infamously hard NES game, Battletoads.

Would it excite the nostalgia cockles of your heart to know that a new trademark for Battletoads was filed by Microsoft, back on November 5th?
