In September, Microsoft officially began the process of acquiring the Minecraft developer, Mojang.
While the entire thing was carefully orchestrated on the back-end, the culmination of the entire thing has finally come to a close, according to a tweet posted by Xbox boss, Phil Spencer:
“It’s official, today we welcome Mojang to the Microsoft Studios family. We’re excited for the possibilities ahead w/the Minecraft community.”
Minecraft is now a Microsoft-owned property. You will still be able to receive updates for the sandbox on PlayStation consoles … for now.
