Enjoy a Thought-Provoking Interview with Marvelous’ Huge Boob Producer, Kenichiro Takaki

Marvelous has given us a fully English-subtitled interview they with their huge boob producer, Kenichiro Takaki, which they conducted during this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

When asked what his favorite cake is (in regards to Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit!) he said, “Monte Blanc. It looks like tits with a chestnut on top.” He was also asked which Nintendo characters he’d like to see in a Senran Kagura game. He picked Samus, and Princess Peach. He also talked about how Zelda is his favorite character in Super Smash Bros.; despite this, he uses Link whenever he plays.

His favorite girl from the series thus far? Hibari. But he listed his favorites from the other schools: from Homura Crimson Squad it’s Yomi, from Gessen it’s Murakumo, and from Hebijo it’s Murasaki (he points out she has the biggest tits in the entire series). He also described why he loves Hibari so much.

He said her creation was a combination of his great loves, including the Buruma (gym shorts) that are no longer used in Japanese schools, which he still has bittersweet memories of. He said that young people these days probably don’t know the profound meaning of the Buruma.

While Takaki-san previously revealed a tongue-in-cheek parody of the Oculus Rift in the form of Head Mount π-Play, he was also asked about bringing the series to Oculus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus. He clearly said that he’d love to bring the games to virtual reality, and that he wants to make games where you’re surrounded by beautiful women. Coming from this, a nod was made to a previous statement of his—that you’ll almost be able to smell the girls in Senran Kagura 2.

Takaki-san was asked what fans could look forward to next. His answer sounded a bit similar to his excitement about working with VR, but specifically being able to touch the girls via a camera/capture device, i.e. without peripherals or touch screens. He promised that he’s trying to bring the 2D characters closer to the fans, and that maybe someday you’ll be able to interact with the kunoichi through touch and smell.

As for the future of the series, he described potential games where you’d see older characters like Rin and Daidouji getting representation. He talked about designing a professional world of Shinovi action battles and stories, in the true sense of the word, and not related to just schools and students. When asked about another anime series, he said that he’s considering a second season, but this would have to be after Senran Kagura: Estival Versus launches in Japan.

However, when flatly asked what the future of the series post-Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson will hold in store, he seemed a bit cagey. He teased about having another story with the same girls, but with a different battle, or perhaps another side-story entirely, or maybe even an entire new cast of girls? He said that even he’s not sure at this point.

His message to the fans of Senran Kagura around the world was one of thanks. He expressed great joy in being able to finally release the localized versions of the game, and said that he wasn’t expecting the games to be accepted by gamers outside of Japan at all. Takaki-san did say that up until now, the series has been made with the Japanese gamers in mind.

Now that he’s realized overseas users have developed a taste for the series, he teased localizations for Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson, and Senran Kagura: Estival Versus.
