So, for anyone who doesn’t follow Tekken regularly, the newest installment of the series is currently undergoing location tests in Japan’s arcades as an arcade cabinet. In addition to this, Bandai has released some information regarding several of the new features that Tekken 7 has in store for players.
There are two brand new systems at work in 7—”Rage Arts” and “Power Clash”.
“Rage Arts” are situational attacks that can be used when a character’s health drops below a certain threshold. Not unlike many other fighting games (most recently, Persona), these are akin to last-shot moves that can be used to level a playing field when you’re getting your tail kicked. After falling below that threshold, however, in addition to gaining access to that character’s Rage Art, the user also enters an “Enraged State” that will give them an offensive buff.
The second system, “Power Clashes”, are a second type of special move that allows characters to attack without flinching from hits for the attack. There hasn’t been much information as to how these attacks are limited by usage or repetition; the only real information is that they don’t nullify the damage, only stop you from flinching. As with Rage Arts, Power Clashes differ from character to character.
Here’s some footage of the location testing:
The released information came on a pamphlet (viewed here) and also reveals some confirmed characters through a list of them with their new Rage Arts and Power Clashes. To save you some time, here’s the list of confirmed characters in the order they appear on the pamphlet.
