So I got an email from the folks at Unit-e Technologies about their fascinating new music/rhythm arcade game, Neon FM. Featured above, you can view a top 10 list of songs from the game’s appearance at MAGFest 2014, a yearly music/gaming convention.
The game has been in the making for roughly ten years, with the original studio and project going bankrupt due to a number of issues – including patent grievances with Konami. Last year, the project was brought to life again and saw the game rebuilt with a new engine, soundtrack, and overall design.
While the arcade cabinet has been regularly available in arcades (and to order for a whopping price tag), the team at Unit-e Technologies is also bringing the experience to both iOS and Android in the near future.
I have to finish this off with a plea to Unit-e: we’d gladly accept a kind donation to the Niche Gamer offices, in the form of a Neon FM cabinet. All jokes aside – what songs stood out the most to you? Have you managed to get some hands on time with the game?
You can submit inquiries for acquiring an arcade cabinet here via the games official website.
