It seems like that price drop really was necessary to push consoles out the door – Microsoft has announced that Xbox One sales have climbed to more than double previous figures in the United States in the month of June.

This is following their confirmation of a new SKU, minus the Kinect camera, that would set you back $399 dollars. Specific sales or unit numbers were not confirmed, however.

To stoke the heated console war fires, Sony confirmed some very interesting figures of their own – the Playstation 4 was still on top in the United States. This makes June the sixth month in a row that PS4 has been the top selling console in the United States. Also confirmed was that PS4 is the top platform for physical software sales.
