Square Enix: Final Fantasy XV Development is “Going Smoothly”

This week’s Famitsu magazine had a very interesting article called the “Truth of Rumors 2014,” and it revealed some juicy tidbits regarding some rumors that were circulating a few Square Enix properties, namely Final Fantasy XV, Dissidia Final Fantasy, and the potential Final Fantasy X-3.

According to the article, when Square Enix responded in regards to their near decade worth of development for Final Fantasy XV, producer Shinji Hashimoto said that the development for the game is “going smoothly,” and that they’re also working on finishing up Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, which should be ready to ship soon. He said that more information for XV should be revealed soon.


Also detailed in the report is Square Enix’s stance on a potential third sequel to Final Fantasy X, now that the HD collection has released. The producer on both games, Yoshinori Kitase, said that the company is not working on X-3.

Finally, when asked about another game in the Dissidia spinoff series, the director on those games, Mitsunori Takahasi said “I would love to make another game.”
