Frictional Games has published a brand new trailer SOMA, their upcoming sci-fi horror game that is in development for Playstation 4 and PC.
The new trailer, dubbed simply “Theta,” shows several in game environments, new voice talent, and some clues as to what the story is actually about. Here’s a hint – whatever it is, it’s probably going to make you crap yourself.
Apparently, SOMA is roughly a week away from reaching alpha status in its ongoing development, as per Frictional Games’ post over on the Playstation Blog. Over half of the game is fully playable, if you’re a speedy player this will clock in around five hours. Frictional is promising that the final game will horrify you for around eight hours.

SOMA’s creative director, Thomas Grip, had this to say:
“SOMA doesn’t rely on a core gameplay loop – such as shooting baddies or jumping platforms – to create a sense of fun. Instead, you’ll take part in a wide range of activities; it’s impossible to narrow it down to one. You’ll search for notes, solve puzzles, hide from dangers, explore unsettling places, take part in strange events and sometimes just run away. All of these come together with the graphics and soundscape to create a larger whole.”
SOMA is set for a release sometime in 2015 for both Playstation 4 and PC.
