16-Bit ARPG CrossCode Leaves Early Access

After seven long years in development by Radical Fish Games, Deck13, WhisperGames, DANGEN Entertainment, and Mayflower Entertainment, CrossCode has finally hit version 1.0.

CrossCode is a 2D retro-inspired action-RPG that raised just over €90,000 on Indiegogo back in 2015. It later hit Steam Early Access that same year. The story revolves around Lea, a girl trapped in an MMORPG with no memory of her past. You can watch the game’s launch trailer above.

Just because the game is out that doesn’t mean it’s completely finished, though. The developers note that there are still some extra features on the way, like in-game backer rewards, Steam Achievements and Trading Cards, New Game+, additional side quests, and a few other minor additions.

CrossCode is available for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam and GOG. It’s currently 15% off its regular price of $19.99. CrossCode is also coming to consoles at some point, but no date has been confirmed. In a rare treat for the modern games industry, CrossCode actually has a demo.

Here’s a rundown of the game:
