Vanillaware’s 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim may be heading to the west, based on an upcoming trailer to be shown at IGN’s Summer of Gaming.
The news comes via the recent scheduling announcement for IGN’s Summer of Gaming event. On June 9th, one of the trailers will be an “exclusive reveal trailer” of 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
Considering the game launched in Japan in late 2019, and IGN’s primary audience being western English-speaking nations; it seems likely that the game may be getting a western release date.
Originally it was tentatively slated for 2020, but the new trailer will likely reveal the month or even day of release. This trailer may also reveal the game coming to new platforms or with new content, though that would be speculation.
The game follows 13 characters, each with their own perspective on events of 1980’s Japan, and an alien invasion. Alongside exploring and interact with NPCs, players fight off aliens with mecha in pausable real time strategy battles.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is available in Japan on PlayStation 4.
