Yume Nikki: Dream Diary Officially Announced

Kadokawa Corporation has officially announced Yume Nikki: Dream Diary.

The new project is based on the 2004-released RPG Maker game Yume Nikki, made by indie Japanese developer Kikiyama. Featured above, you can view the announcement trailer for the new game.

While details like development platforms, a release window, and more are currently scant, a full reveal for the game is probably coming when the previously launched countdown website runs out on January 25th.

Featured above, a surreal eight-minute trailer dubbed “We Can Not Wake Up” was released alongside the Famitsu reveal. It’s worth mentioning Famitsu lists the game for PC and console, yet neither are confirmed.

    Oh man, this is amazing.

Hopefully the collector’s edition comes with acid.

This is what artsy looks like to stupid people

  • NukeA6

So what’s this? A sequel? That’s also the most pointless videogame trailer I’ve ever seen.

    “ATM Machine”

Good sign they’re going to keep the visuals intact at the least. Didn’t feel like the original needed a sequel, but I’m willing to give it a shot.

  • So a remake?

  • PaRaLLaXTHeTiCS

I haven’t played the original, but I’m guessing that the trailer is some meta shit.

After Big Order idk why anybody would care about anything this dude does.

    What happened with Big Order?

  • 🆔SLoWMoTIoN

Did you see what Big Order was about?

  • Pillbugable

That’s Mirai Nikki, not Yume Nikki.

Yume Nikki was an old freeware game that never got finished.

  • 🆔SLoWMoTIoN

    oh im dumb

  • Mysterious Friend X

This isn’t a Western game though.

  • Mysterious Friend X

Nobody knows what it’s going to be but I’m guessing it’s going to be a remake/reboot. It’s not really any more pointless than many other trailers that only exist to raise awareness of an upcoming project and don’t reveal anything substantial about it.

    Yume Nikki was finished
