New Super Mario Odyssey Update Adds Balloon World Mini-Game

Nintendo has announced a new free update for Super Mario Odyssey that adds a new “Balloon World” mini-game.

The February-due update adds the aforementioned mini-game, as well as new Snapshot Mode filters, and even new outfits.

Balloon World will be made available to players who have completed the main story mode. There’s both a “Hide It” mode where players have a set amount of time to hide the balloon, as well as a “Find It” mode where you’re given a set amount of time to find balloons hidden by other players from around the world. There’s a global leaderboard as well.

Super Mario Odyssey is now available for the Nintendo Switch. In case you missed it, you can find our review for the game here (we highly recommend it!).

I was hoping for some more luigi content, even if it was just cameos (though I would’ve loved more cameos from other characters regardless).
At least there’s some new costumes

I would love a luigi mansion level, we didn’t get boos or a spooky level like in 64 or sunshine.

I don’t really see the point of this, especially since I think the mini-games are the weakest part of the game, (after motion controls) and Leaderboards I could’t give a shit about and they always end up being topped by cheaters anyway.

But, it is free content added to a game that already has a ton of content, and I don’t think they got any actual DLC planned so I can’t really complain, and you can never have enough of Luigi.

There’s an unlockable Tingle costume for Luigi, right? There has to be!

    L is for winner.
