Final Fantasy XV Multiplayer Expansion Delayed to Early November 2017

Square Enix has delayed the Final Fantasy XV multiplayer “Comrades” expansion.

The multiplayer-focused expansion will launch sometime early next month, a tiny bit later from its planned October 31st release.

“Due to final adjustments and to create the best possible experience, the online expansion Final Fantasy XV: Comrades will now be released in early November,” Square Enix said in a tweet. “We’re sorry for any inconveniences this has caused but as soon as we can confirm the new Final Fantasy XV: Comrades release date, we’ll let you know.”

In related news, Square Enix confirmed they’re going to support the game with even more post-launch downloadable content next year. You can read more about that here.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In case you missed it, you should check out our written and video review for the game here.

Does anyone even care about FFXV anymore?

  • Jack

    Who would have guessed

  • Exien

I hate this trend Singleplayer games are getting towards games as service, all this content is far to late and they should use it to fix the boring and bad story.

  • Nagato

FFXV didn’t release as a GaaS product as much as it was just an Early Access title disguised as a full price AAA retail one.

  • Malcolm_Ecks

Lots of people outside of the same 6 people here that shit on it. Its not the best game, we get it, move on. The bitching about the game has become more annoying the fanboys of it.

  • sanic

I do want to play FFXV but I really do not care about this portion.

  • Godmars

Except this is going to happen with FF16, 17, 18 and on. Very likely they’re going to be “not the best” while being staunchly defended.

  • catazxy

In the past instead of a multiplayer sloppily added they made the singleplayer game great and endlessly replayable….

  • David Curry

Nothing about FFXV has ever arrived on schedule.

  • Malcolm_Ecks

They’re going to be defended because people want to pretend that a mediocre FF game is as bad as an awful JRPG. People gotta stop being hyperbolic with their hate for the game.

  • Madbrainbox

    I’ll get it on PC.

  • catazxy

Maybe its just me, but I would take a bad FF, made with risky ideas that and has a genuine artistic vision, over a bland, mediocre and shareholder friendly FF.

  • Lord Fallen

Most of the hate is due to the open world having dull side quests, the NPCs being not interesting, the villains and final villain being a let down, the story being generally weak. When someone says they like a game,(even as shit as Aliens Colonial Marine, or disappointing like Dragon Age Inquisition), rarely will they get shit. They will be respected for their opinions. Why cant you lot ever respect someone’s opinion when they hate a game? Have you considered that the people who hate FFXV would actually want to love it? That they would rather get a good game and love the shit out of it instead of getting a mediocre game and hating or disliking it? You yourself call it mediocre!!! Why the hell do you want to defend a mediocre FFXV, in your own words btw? Why is your mediocre standard everyone’s mediocre standard? It may be shit for others.

The option to have people play as your party should have been there on day one.
This is imcompetence disguised as milking.
