Dragon Quest XI Japanese Sales Break 2 Million Units Within Two Days

Famitsu has revealed the first sales numbers for Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age.

The game has sold over two million copies within the first two days of it being available in the Japanese market, for PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo 3DS.

The Nintendo 3DS version slightly outsold the PlayStation 4 version at 1,130,468 copies, while the PlayStation 4 version sold 950,338 copies. In total, the game sold over 2,080,000 copies from July 29th and July 30th.

It’s worth mentioning these sales do not include digital purchases, but do include the standard version of the game, as well as hardware bundles.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age launched for both platforms on July 29th in Japan. A Switch version is also coming, but isn’t dated yet. A western release is planned for PlayStation 4 sometime early next year.
