Indie Japanese Action Game Kamiko Now Available for Switch in Japan

Flyhigh Works and Skipmore have released Kamiko for the Nintendo Switch.

The new action-arcade throwback game is now available for the Switch via the Nintendo eShop in Japan, and the game costs 500 yen.

Featured above, you can view an overview trailer for the game, which focuses on three maidens and how they each play differently and use different abilities.

A western release for Kamiko isn’t confirmed at the time of publication.

  • Yamato, Uzume and Hinome are the three girls’ names respectively.

  • I really want this game…

If you download it from the Japanese eshop and then play it on an English account it’s in English.

Oh, fast paced Zelda. Looks really good!

  • Looks awesome, can’t wait to get the definitive version on PC in a few years time.

  • That’s only for Breath of the Wild, based on what I know. I do know about buying games on a separate account, but I don’t think it’ll change Kamiko to English, because the game’s files need to have English in them in the first place.

  • bomblord

It does have English in the game it’s fully translated there’s already gameplay of it.

  • Well, I’ll be damned.

Feels like Crosscode has competition. Did they ever finish that game? The demo’s combat was tight, but if they planned on making a whole game with growth like it looked to be, they definitely needed to expand it in more ways than just adding various RPG style buffs to the existing movesets.

Which makes you wonder why don’t they just have a simultaneous release? I mean, seriously, Blaster Master Zero was the exact same thing.

Cross Code was supposed to be released Q2 May 2016 but when the devs realized how they underestimated the scope of the game it became imperative that they’ll delay the release date until it’s finished.

  • Jack Thompson

And it’s still not done? Do they have a tentative release date? Are they at least showing consistent significant progress?

  • InfectedAI

Nice to see some actual gameplay. Looks pretty cool, and the price seems pretty good as long as it’s a decent length. They nailed the retro style. Seems like something from back in the day. Is it a Switch exclusive?

  • BentoBlame

They’re particular with details so it might take a while and I don’t see them mention any form of release date so far.

And yes they’re constantly updating the game and other things as shown in their social media accounts. Here’s their twitter

  • Jack Thompson

Well as long as they continue release updates on how things are going with significant progress in proportion to how much funding they’re receiving it’s all cool.

At least they think they’re close. Unless they go full maximum over delay and pull a
