Life-Sized Summer Lesson Waifu Statue Will Cost You $20,000

Bandai Namco are going all out in their promoting of Summer Lesson, their PlayStation VR-enabled waifu simulator.

Now, the company is offering a life-sized statue of the game’s protagonist, Hikari Miyamoto. Standing at 5’2 (or 160cm), Hikari will literally cost you the value of an automobile – 2,700,000 yen, or roughly $23,000.

In case you’re a normal person with personal restraint, there’s also a 1/8th scale version for roughly $83, which you can find here.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia will release an English language physical bundle version for Summer Lesson, which includes the full game and all of its downloadable content. It’s set for a release sometime earlier this year.

Previously, game producer Katsuhiro Harada said the game was unlikely to officially come west because of the “current climate” in the western gaming industry. If you missed it, you can find my first impressions of the game here.

This is not made for weebs, this is made for Japanese customers. Even if they were targeting foreigners, what makes you think they would be targeting weebs? When is the last time you have even seen one? I go to anime/otaku communities all the time and never see any.

at some point they will be able to enable VR-doll interactivity
    a sort of augmented reality
see via the headset, feel what’s in front of you, the illusion will never have been more real
once they can mass produce the dolls their price should also drop
this will happen in the next years, 5, 10, just wait
