Summer Lesson Gets an English Physical Release in Asia

While the game is probably not getting a western release, Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia has announced an English language physical bundle version for Summer Lesson.

The English version of the virtual reality waifu simulator will come with the full game and all of its downloadable content. It’s set for a release sometime earlier this year.

Previously, game producer Katsuhiro Harada said the game was unlikely to come west because of the “current climate” in the western gaming industry. You can make what you want from that statement, but it’s nice to see the company is going all out to at least make the game import friendly.

In case you missed it, you can find my first impressions of the game here.

Damn. The first reason to buy a PSVR has arrived.

  • sanic

So you teach her? I’m just not clear on what you do

  • nine_ball

You’re in a room with a cute girl. It doesn’t really matter what you do at that point.

  • Mr0303

Awesome. I guess it’s time to import the game. I still hope we get the Western version.

  • sanic

  • Valchior

there’s gonna be a huge “English physical release” when this game hits the west

  • Eldhin Hellknight

Who cares about this when Illusion is going to release something better?

  • porkbun

Agreed hentai sex+mods is better than this cocktease.

  • *cough*

    British

    *cough*

  • MFW not even Ace Combat 7 enough to bring you in xD

  • scemar

summer lesson would still be good without those if it didn’t flash a blackhole on the screen anytime the player moved remotely close to the girl

that shit ruins the psvr games beyond redemption

  • OSad

Some people just want to hang out with a cute girl and study. I think that’s a fetish.

I’d say you can already technically “experience”, or at least preview, what the ero content of Bukkake Lesson is going to be on an Illusion product, just download Honey Select and a few room cards, create a student that resembles the one in that trailer, load up the studio and the VR plugin and you’re golden.

Fuck, I think it wouldn’t even take that much searching to find a character card and a few scenes where people have already done just that. The Japanese love that damn game.

It’s to not break ~*Immersion*~. I kinda understand why, it’s either you put something innocuous on the player’s view while he sorts himself out, or, you’re brutally reminded that video game models are blow-up dolls with nothing but air, hopes and dreams inside of them.

Maybe going momentarily blind isn’t the best solution but it is one.

I thought it was so perverts couldn’t peek under the skirt or over the shirt

  • Fenrir007

I resisted the VR temptation long enough. That’s it, guys – I’m going in!

  • OSad

The people trying to peek under the skirts when this game came out weren’t getting black screens because the game thought they were doing a naughty, it was because they were tilting their heads so low, the view between the Playstation Camera and the headset’s light sensors was being obstructed. The headset’s viewport then dims the view and gives you a warning that you’re outside the play area.

My theory for that is, when the camera loses track of the headset, the viewport normally flickers and glitches out, which would be extremely nauseating for the end user. To “fix” that, they just flick the lights off until the camera catches wind of the headset again.

As far as I’m aware, this game has no censorship of any kind. If anything, if you ask the developer, they’ll probably tout that shit as a feature.

Because of the current climate….Leftists just keep on giving.

it also happened on miku games and it happened if they tried to look over a girl’s cleavage too

  • OSad

Not on the most recent Miku “game”, though when you peek under there it’s nothing exciting, just a black, specularless pair of spats. They probably had to tone down Miku’s model to make that whole stadium run in VR so it doesn’t look great.

As far as cleavage shots go, I just can’t find any references to that not being possible in Summer Lesson. Not that it matters that much, she’s completely covered up on her school attire, but imagine how ridiculous it would be to implement something like that: any time the player is on any particular height the game considers to be cleavage-shot worthy, the screen would have to be dimmed out. It would lead to problems depending on how tall some players are, not to mention it makes no sense for that to be in, when you can still peek under the girl’s skirt and be totally okay.

Yes, Miku games are hit-and-miss when it comes to censorship, though it’s worth noting that most of the censorship comes in the form of controversial songs and impact both versions of the game, so the nips are not being dicked any softer in that regard.

You can see a great cleavage shot at 1:55 by the way, since it’s so pertinent to the conversation. Shit where the peeping police comes for you seems limited to edit mode in these games.

and occulus is now 500 bucks, so it’s a bit cheaper to go with the better experience
