Star Fox 64 Joins Wii U Virtual Console in North America

Nintendo has released the classic Star Fox 64 for the Wii U Virtual Console in North America.

The 3D, on-rails shooter is essentially a reboot of the original Star Fox. Starring Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, and Slippy Toad, players will embark on a journey to stop the ingenious and evil Andross.

Originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1997 and later for the Wii Virtual Console in 2007, the game features four player multiplayer, an engrossing story with voice acting, levels featuring the Landmaster or Blue-Marine sub, and more.

Star Fox 64 will cost you $9.99 on the Wii U eShop.

In Europe at least, it was released a few weeks before Zero.

  • Why would anyone buy a virtual console game a month before they are going to be forced to buy it on another console?

Maybe it will hit the Switch by the game’s 30th anniversary.
