Night in the Woods Release Date Set to February 21

Independent developer Infinite Fall has announced what is hopefully the final release date for Night in the Woodstheir Kickstarter-funded narrative adventure game.

The game is now planned for a February 21st release, following their announced delay last month. The game was originally planned for a release on January 10th, over three years since it was crowdfunded back in November of 2013.

When talking about the game’s development, they said: “We’re not a big company. The core team is 3 people working out of our small apartments. I’m one of them. Hello. We’ve only been in the same room irl like 4 or 5 times for a few days over the past 3 years. No offices, no payroll. US and Canada.”

The developer talked up their studio and development when compared to larger, more funded projects: “People have a tendency to see all games as coming from companies with big PR teams and producers and fancy workplaces and so forth. Even our amazing publisher Finji is a literal mom and pop operation run (very ably) out of their house in Michigan.”

Night in the Woods is planned for a release on PC, Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 4.

I know very little about the developer, Infinite Fall or Night in the Woods.

Is this a project/developer I should keep in mind?

It’s a shame but will be good in the end. As noted on their kickstarter:

It reeeeeally sucks having to make this kind of announcement, especially right after releasing a trailer and all. But again, it’s just a few weeks and you’ll be busy playing

“Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone” all January anyway. Hit us up with questions if you got ’em and we’ll do the best we can to answer them. Thanks for your patience.
