    Suddenly sales don’t matter.

  • Lucky

I wonder if Nintendo has the balls to release a main Pokemon title exclusively to the Switch.

I wanna say no, but, it would solidify a lot of hardware sales. My guess is an enhanced version of this one first.

  • RetroGamer

Since the Switch is playing dual roles as the company’s home console and portable, I think there’s a good chance it will.

  • DrearierSpider

Not a single comment here says that.

Pokemon Eclipse next year seems most likely.

As someone who has played every single mainline entry since I was 10 years old in 1998, I can say that Sun and Moon is the most refreshing since the original imo. Small changes make the biggest difference.

I won’t lie, I thought of the same name.

I think the bans were too inconsistent to report on. I got Moon the day it leaked out on the internet and a day later, me and two buddies were already online trading pokemon.

It`s been about a week and we`re all still good, no messages about being banned or anything. Might be just a brainfart on Nintendo`s part.

  • OldPalpy

Jesus Christ and people call this place a circlejerk that article is fucking embarrassing.

  • VLOCKUP

I thought next would be Star.

  • My copy of Monster Hunter Stories finally shipped so even as someone who started with Gen 1 and wants to get back to the series (last one I finished was Gen 3)… I’ll put it off for a while.

Can you dispel my fears about the gyms with a few words? All I normally want from Pokemon is more critters (looks like they made it), a world where NPCs have something to say and 8 Gyms (or an equivalent).

I don’t expect a Casino or Kanto or wherever to return but that would be nice.

  • Zombie_Barioth

From what I’ve heard, the system can tell wether its a legit copy being played or not.

My guess is that the people complaining about being banned after having bought the game also downloaded it to play early and got caught red-handed.

Any chance of a review guys?
I know it’ll be a little late for US readers, but EU users would love it.

Is the online meta-broken (albeit, using only Sun/Moon Pokes right now), is the Island Challenge + Toten Pokemon better than Gyms? Does it hold my hand? How is the post-game?

  • Zanard Bell

Well good for them. Pokemon has really been on a roll this year, and yes that includes GO, and here’s hoping they keep it up.

Still, I wish Nintendo stops making consoles and does it as a third-party dev, lol.

Likely 3DS will cripple along with very few releases of worth long enough for another Pokèmon game to come out as its swan song. Maybe a few extra “special edition” reskins of the hardware along the way.

  • Shiggy Diggy Doo

There isn’t 8 gyms but rather challenges for every Pokémon type.

  • And there are way more than 8 types, so that doesn’t sound so bad given that a Gym is a effectively Type rush typically with some avoidable foes and maybe some light puzzles normally in a town.

Would you say there are at least 8 worthwhile towns/cities, not just a rush of bosses with few people, shops and hobby stuff (not expecting the casino but things like that help)?

  • Shiggy Diggy Doo

Nooope. At most there would be like 4 worthwhile towns and the island challenges are more like minigames leading up to the big Kahuna fight and there are 4 of those.

  • … Sounds rather disappointing to be honest.

I guess it is still a thousand times better than Bravely Default so I’ll take it. I’ve generally kept my head out of the spoiler zone, but am surprised that I haven’t heard as much backlash or seen negative reception through the Japanese eShop ratings. I’m not expecting current Pokemon fans, especially when at least a few are just enthralled to be playing something with the IP which is more ambitious than Pokemon Go, to bash it but yeah.

I’ve got a lot of RPGs (MH Stories, Devil Survivor 2, Xenoblade’s original game, Toushin Toshi, The Legend of Legacy etc) I could be playing and will definitely get to Sun/Moon but my expectations will be a little lower in advance. Thanks for the info.

    No prob

    Best Pokemon game ever.

This is why I love Nintendo.
