Swery65 Taking a Break From Game Development Due to Health Concerns

A bit of sad news for fans of Hidetaka ‘Swery65’ Suehiro’s work, as the Deadly Premonition and D4 visionary will be taking a break from game development.

The creator has cited health issues as the cause for his hiatus.

From his blog:

Starting today, I will be taking a short break from game development, in order to focus on recovering from reactive hypoglycemia. I’m already slow enough at making games as it is, and I feel like all I ever do is make my fans wait… But I’ve decided that I need to take a rest here, so that I can hopefully continue to make games in the future.

With no clear date on when he’s expecting to continue game development, we can only hope he get’s better soon and continue to do what he loves.

Our best wishes go out to Swery and his family. Make sure you go and wish him well on his personal twitter, as he’ll need all the encouragement necessary to recover.

I can wait for a new Swery game like a new Tool album, l just hope his health improves.

This guy is like Kenji Eno’s successor and has already surpassed Suda51 in my book.
