Sega has announced in this week’s Famitsu (via Hachima Kikou) a Monster Hunter-like game, for smartphone devices.

Players will be able to fight with up to three other comrades on missions, each one lasting roughly five or so minutes. As the game is built around smartphone devices, ease-of-use controls are the focus, allowing you to play with only one hand.

Three main commands in the game include your regular attack, guarding, and a “special pair attack.” You’ll be able to make use of five different weapons at the start of service, including a lance, a large sword, dual swords, a hammer, and a bow.

The free-to-play game will be coming with micro-transactions, and it’s slotted for a release in Japan some time next month.

They did say they’d focus more on smartphones in the future.
And for a smartphone game this actually sounds quite fun if you’ve got other friends interested in 5 minutes of gaming during a break.

Monster Hunter with microtransactions…I do not have high hopes for how that will turn out.

Yeah, I have no hopes of this being remotely fair to the player. Also, a MH game you can play with one hand? Might be like Monster Hunter Dynamic Hunting, then, which I’m not a fan of.

Thank god for PPSSPP on android.

Not sure how I feel about this!

    Inevitably shit
