Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Update 1.1.1 Detailed, Launches December 22

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 director Tetsuya Takahashi has shared the first details for the 1.1.1 update for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Here’s the full rundown on the update:

Greetings to everyone playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This is Director Takahashi at Monolith Soft. Today I’d like to talk about the main updates that will be seen in the Ver. 1.1.1 update, which will be distributed next week on Friday, December 22.

In addition to some bug fixes, we will address the following points:

  • An easy mode will be added to Tiger! Tiger!
  • When you press the X button, the Skip Travel screen will open the map to your current location. We hope this will make it easier to spot Skip Travel locations and Salvage Points on the map.
  • An additional 1:1 zoom on the mini map will be displayed by pressing the L Stick. This will allow improved visibility of your surroundings and make it easier to check quest locations.

We will further improve the convenience of the mini map as we add more quests and additional elements for second playthroughs next year for all players (not just those who purchased the Expansion Pass!) We appreciate your continued patience.

  • In your second playthrough, you will be able to have “those” Blades join your party! You can also dispatch Blades like Pyra and Dromarch as a Merc Group, and unlock the “LV 4 Special” of a certain Blade.
  • We will distribute the following useful items to those who purchased the Expansion Pass:

– Driver Essentials Set: 10 x Rare Core Crystal, 1 x Legendary Core Crystal, 3 x Overdrive Protocol

– Upgrade Parts for Poppi: 30,000 ether

– Pyra’s Favorite Things: 5 x Jenerossi Tea

– Nia’s Favourite Things: 5 x Ardainian Bear Carving

Monolith Soft will continue to add improvements that will make the world of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 even more enjoyable for a long time. And even though there may be times when we cannot address every need immediately because we are working on these improvements in parallel with the Expansion Pass, we truly appreciate your continued support for Xenoblade Chronicles 2!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is now available for the Nintendo Switch. Expect our thorough review for the game in the coming days.

I guess it’s kind of obvious this was rushed for the holidays. Lets hope they continue to patch it and fix the fast travel graphical bugs especially.
Maybe rebalance some cores/where they are found so Legendary Cores never produce common trash.

    I like that.

It’s been really funny watching the difference in complaints from XBX to this game. We complained about the shit censorship in XBX. They are complaining about the boobs in this game.

They may have realized the people complaining about the censorship actually buy the games and the people complaining about boobs do not. Pander to the group that gives you money.

Anyone who opens their big fat mouth instead of their wallet should be ignored. Let the market dictate what content is in our games instead of a minority composed of SJW faggots and their ilk. If they don’t like certain content, then kindly tell them to avert their eyes and move along like the delicate little snowflakes they are.

No, they should listen to the people that got them where they were instead; the market itself is over saturated with the type of people that lead us to loot boxes and kowtowing to SJWs.

This is probably a result of Nintendo deciding at the last minute to include Japanese audio. However playing with it is incredibly frustrating a lot of the names have been changed and it’s really confusing reading the subtitles and hearing different names. They also have to subtitles all the dialogue outside of cutscenes. Which I know will take a lot of time but it would be nice to know they’re actually working on.

So Tiger Tiger is getting “game journalist mode,” eh? It isn’t terribly difficult to begin with.

I lifted an eyebrow when I heard the Nopon called the protagonist “aniki” but the subtitles said “Rex-Rex.”

    It’s a Japanese honorific.

Aniki (兄貴), a Japanese honorable term for an older brother or a superior.

    Yeah I can get that.
I’ve watched my share of anime so I’m familiar with it, but the average westerner that doesn’t watch much or at all wont even know the term, much less what the hell it means.

It’s the kind of thing that if you have to explain to the player, not because there’s some in game importance or meaning, but because it’s just some odd japanese specific quirk, at that point it’s just immersion breaking and I agree with them for not bothering.

Since he looked up to Rex, I personally think something like “big bro” would’ve fit better. That would have conveyed the general idea without getting overly complicated.

True, but they may be trying to keep it consistent with how the nopon talk in all the other Xenoblade games.

Spot idiot apologists who deep down are livid that their system needs to downgrade to sub SD in its featured mode wonder what glorious other resolutions are in store as the bottlenecks become more apparent, here’s hoping they soon reach the 240p masterrace.

I think the difference is that, I complained about the censorship in X but I did buy the game, I also bought this game. The people who whined this time didn’t buy X and they weren’t going to and didn’t buy 2 in all probability. Shitlords like me are a better sales target than SJW whiners.

    “…their system…”

Are you one of those single platform shit talkers like ChocolateIsis? I don’t have “my” system. I can go from my triple screen gaming PC to the shitty resolution of a 3DS or wherever without any issue. I go where the games that appeal to me are.

“…here’s hoping they soon reach the 240p masterrace.”

    Stay miserable, chump.
