Following a massive 1.0 update, V Rising developer Stunlock Studios has blessed us again. The newest content drop, Invaders of Oakveil, adds an entire new micro region, as well as a new V blood target for players to hunt down.
Invaders of Oakveil is an absurdly large content drop, also including new weapons, new enemies, tweaks to the talent tree system and so much more.
The update brings in an overwhelmingly long list of features, so we decided to compile a Top 5 with our favorite additions to the game. Enjoy!
5- New Weapons
Oakveil introduces three new weapons to V Rising, the dual claws, which have a set of lunging attacks that allow for great movement, the throwing daggers, which are a menace in PVP thanks to their trap setups and snare, and the twinblades, which feature multi-hit combos with their basic attacks and skills that allow you to rush down targets by teleporting to them.
The legendary artifact versions of these weapons fit frost, unholy and illusion builds, with the claws especially being a much-needed addition to the necromancer playstyle. The three weapons are unlocked a little over halfway through the game, as V Blood target rewards.
4- Spell School Mastery and New Spells
Every school of magic now has passive abilities that unlock as you learn new skills, with the first two tiers being general upgrades, like slower blood drain and faster attack speed, while the last tier gives bonuses tied specifically to that school, like increasing the lifetime of your skeletons or extending the duration of chaos burns.
Invaders of Oakveil also adds six new spells into the game, one for each school of magic. Players now have access to six different active skills, as well as two ultimates and one mobility skill on each tree. The update also provides general balancing tweaks to existing spells, buffing some and nerfing others.
3- Quality of Life Features
One of the biggest inclusions in this new update is the treasury flooring, which makes it so any chest placed on now has global range on your base, and materials can be pulled from it to build anything you want.
Other quality of life additions include a stable for your horses, less randomization when performing research, invisible foundations for aesthetic reasons, moving entire plots without dismantling them, and much more.
2- Blood Mixing and Weapon Reforging
Invaders of Oakveil introduces the blood homogenizer station, which is unlocked by defeating Lucile the Venom Alchemist. This new station allows players to mix and match different blood types, adding an extra trait onto their chosen blood type, which allows for a wider range of playstyles and character customization.
By defeating Dantos the Forgebringer, players can also unlock the fusion forge station, which allows you to transfer bonus stats from one artifact weapon onto another. This solves a huge problem with artifact weapons and allows players to get rid of some of the randomization the system featured.
1- Oakveil and new V Blood Targets
The 1.1 update adds an entire new micro region to V Rising’s map, the Oakveil Woodlands. In this corrupted area, players can encounter new enemies, multiple new bosses, and the new corrupted blood type, which incentivizes a risky glass cannon playstyle, perfect for mixing with other blood types for even more damage.
Jakira the Shadow Huntress is one of the seven new V Blood targets added to the game, serving as one of the bosses in the Oakveil region and giving players access to the slasher weapons once defeated. The also adds Megara the Serpent Queen, who serves as the game’s penultimate boss and featuring an incredibly challenging and flashy fight before players face off the game’s big bad.
These are only some of the features included in this DLC-sized free update added to V Rising. Stunlock Studios is putting in an absurd amount of work into the game, giving it support past the 1.0 release and showing no signs of stopping.
