The Resurrection Of The Christ officially announced with first teaser

The Resurrection Of The Christ

Showrunners behind the long-awaited The Resurrection Of The Christ have revealed a first teaser for the film alongside its official logo.

The first teaser, shown below, reveals the new sequel film’s official logo set to “Mary Goes to Jesus” from the original film, The Passion of the Christ.

Here’s a look at the first teaser:

The official title for The Resurrection Of The Christ was actually announced by director Mel Gibson in his appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast earlier this year.

This new teaser confirms production is ramping up. The sequel has been in pre-production for roughly a decade with Gibson having gone through numerous drafts with Wallace.

Reports of the Passion sequel beginning production and filming surfaced a couple years ago, though the film is now reportedly set to begin filming this summer.

While the original Passion film is a faithful retelling of the New Testament and the events leading up to the crucifixion of Christ, its sequel will focus on the 24 hours of Jesus’ passion and the three days between his crucifixion and resurrection.
