Netflix has revealed the premiere date for their upcoming The Dark Crystal prequel series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

The ten-episode series will premiere on August 30th exclusively via Netflix.

Based on the iconic 1982 film by Jim Henson, the new series follows a totally new adventure with three Gelfings at the forefront. Soon after discovering the horrible secret behind the Skeksis’ power, the three heroes set out on a quest to start a rebellion and save their world.

For those who fondly remember the original film and Henson’s signature puppeteering, the series uses a mix of the aforementioned puppets, as well as new computer-generated visuals.
