Bandai Namco has announced the western release dates for Tales of Berseria.
The latest in their flagship RPG series will launch for PlayStation 4 and PC on January 24th in North America and January 27th in Europe.
Additionally, the publisher announced an extremely limited collector’s edition for the game in North America, limited to only 10,000 units. Setting you back $149.99, the release includes:
- Exclusive Tales of Berseria SteelBook case
- Velvet and Laphicet Chibi Kyun Chara figures
- Exclusive 8-Bit retro keychain set
- Special Selection Music CD
- Hardcover prequel novel “A Witch’s Tale: A World Full of Daemons”
- Set of Tales of Berseria trading cards
- Tales of Berseria starter strategy guide art book
The collector’s edition is readily now available for pre-order at various retailers, like Amazon.

October 7, 2016 at 3:35 pmToo damn expensive. Its 2.5 times the price of the regular edition. That is not worth an extra $90.
Well I suppose if you have Amazon Prime the 20% discount would leave the price at $120. An extra $60 isn’t too bad.

October 7, 2016 at 4:21 pmYeah, Bandai-Namco is going waaaay overboard with these lately (see: the new SAO game). I usually don’t go above $90 for a CE.

October 7, 2016 at 4:48 pmJanuary is full of releases in 2017. Bamco is pretty good when it comes to collector’s editions even if they are a tad bit expensive.

October 7, 2016 at 5:54 pmI can’t help but wish that the things that CAN be digital (game, music CD, strategy guide, novel) should be sold as part of a PC digital deluxe.

October 7, 2016 at 6:15 pmSo many games in Jan-Feb months… I’ll just stock up on provisions and lock my doors for 4-6 months just to finish everything. And no sleep. Sleep is for suckers.

October 7, 2016 at 11:00 pmBrandon what’s the source for this? Are you extrapolating the PC version’s release date from info about the PS4 version?
As far as I can tell, only the PS4 version is confirmed for January so far. Wouldn’t surprise me if the PC version was a bit later, because while it’s true many publishers have gotten better at day-1 PC releases the majority still prefer or maintain a distinct delay for “reasons.”

October 7, 2016 at 11:49 pmSeeing as this already a prequel and the story ends with plot elements wrapped up, that won’t be the case here. This is a new director who a has done a great many thing differently, all for the better.

October 7, 2016 at 11:54 pmConsidering it’s Bandai Namco, I won’t touch the PC port with a ten foot pole.

October 8, 2016 at 1:45 amSweet we finally got a date.
I’ll be getting the standard edition, I’m not big on getting collectors editions since it’s just some extra crap to raise the price, and especially in the case of big name games like this it’s going to be expensive enough on its own to begin with.

October 8, 2016 at 4:31 amThey could’ve cut the trading cards and the glorified nendos, and put an honest to goodness, somewhat decent Velvet figure in there instead for around the same price.
Though I live in bananaland so there’s no way in hell and back I’d be able to buy and bring one of these things home anyway. And if I did, the theoretical figure would probably be missing all of its limbs by the time it takes to get to me.

October 9, 2016 at 1:24 amthe cheapest place (mhtoyshop) has her up for pre-order at $89 + $7 of shipping
so the game on release + this figure will cost you $156 dollars, so for $6 extra dollars you get a better quality figure, if I was getting the CE for the mini nendoroid knockoffs only, I’ll reconsider it.

October 9, 2016 at 10:28 amWhat’s the point if the story was already pasted on youtube like a billion times already!? This is why releasing popular games in the west at the same time as Japan releases is a must, that way the story isn’t spoiled for everyone.

This seems kind of odd given that there has never been an 8bit Tales game.
