Indie developer One More Game has announced a release window for SWAPMEAT, their cooperative roguelite shooter where you swap alien parts.
SWAPMEAT is set to launch sometime later in 2025 for Windows PC and Mac (via Steam). A “Meat Lab” playtest for the game is currently running until May 22.
Here’s a rundown on the game, plus a new trailer:
STEAL LIMBS. SWAP POWERS. BREAK THE GALAXY.
Welcome to SWAPMEAT: A fast-paced co-op roguelite shooter where you rip through alien worlds, harvest mutant body parts, and steal their powers to become the best version of yourself.
WELCOME TO THE CORPORATE SLAUGHTERHOUSE
You’re the newest employee at Rangus Meats, a multi-galactic food conglomerate on a never-ending hunt for the perfect protein. Your mission? Drop onto hostile planets, harvest the locals, swap out your squishy parts, and survive long enough to file your expense report.
With every kill, steal new body parts—legs, torsos, or heads—and assimilate their abilities in real time to unlock wild new powers and unstoppable combinations.
Whether you’re solo or teamed up with coworkers (uh, “friends”), you’ll face brutal alien bosses, team-based challenges, and a meat grinder of strategic decisions that only get weirder with each planet you conquer.
Features
- Swap on the Fly – Rip off appendages from fallen enemies and attach them to yourself mid-combat. Legs that triple-jump? A torso that drops turrets? A new brain? Why not.
- Tight, Fluid Combat – Inspired by games like Risk of Rain 2 and Helldivers 2, SWAPMEAT brings slick movement, explosive firefights, and chaos you can control—if you’re fast enough.
- Built for Co-Op (1–4 Players) – Squad up with your taste buds and coordinate builds to survive. Shared upgrades, tactical synergy, and plentiful combo opportunities.
- Roguelite Replayability – Each run drops you onto planets teeming with unique enemies, random events, and ever-evolving threats. No game is the same, and your build is always mutating.
- Absurd Alien Worlds – From meat-moons to fungal biotech cities, explore bizarre planets loaded with lore, loot, and the occasional sentient spleen.
- Upgrade Between Runs – Escape with your parts intact and you’ll earn permanent upgrades for weapons, abilities… and yourself.
