SUNSOFT returns to full game development with multiple games, including a remake

SUNSOFT

SUNSOFT, the Japanese developer behind classic games like Ikki, Mystery of Atlantis, and Kuso-ge, announced that they will be back in production of games in full swing.

Their big announcement came with the announcement that they are looking for beta testers for their upcoming Ikki Unite, a cooperative roguelike game where you and up-to 15 other players work together to survive the game’s many challenges.


In addition to Ikki Unite, Sunsoft also announced a tentative release schedule for several other titles that they plan to have out between 2022 and 2023, including a remake that they couldn’t unveil today.

Sunsoft also announced that the soundtracks for Gimmick! Special Edition and Ufouria: The SAGA will be getting full soundtrack releases on vinyl and cassette – which is an awesome collector’s item for anyone.

Gimmick! first released in January of 1992 for the NES and Uforia first released a year prior in 1991.
