Suikoden 1 and 2 HD remaster gets first direct comparison between original

Konami shared the first comparison shot for the newly announced Suikoden and Suikoden II HD remaster.

While there was footage shown of the new remaster at Tokyo Game Show, the developer shared a direct side-by-side comparison between some of the games’ most iconic scenes:


Above you can see the original game in its standard definition format on the left while the new HD remaster is on the right. It’s worth noting Konami said the remaster’s backgrounds are “upgraded to HD”, however the above screens definitely look more than a simple upgrade.

Here’s a rundown on the new remaster:

A few months earlier, a truth agreement was signed between the two forces, both of which were happy to see an end to the fighting. However, hidden under the momentary peace the fires of a new war continued to smolder…

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars is launching sometime in 2023 for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
